How We Vet Our Specialists

Every professional in our network earns their place. Here is how.

Our Vetting Process

Before any specialist appears in our network, they go through a five-step process. This is not a formality. We have turned away contractors who looked great on paper but did not meet our standards in practice.

1

Provincial licensing verification

We confirm every specialist holds current licensing for foundation repair in their province. Licensing requirements vary across Canada, and we check against the specific regulations that apply in each region. This is verified before they join and re-checked annually. If a license lapses, the specialist is suspended from the network until it is renewed.

2

Insurance verification

Every specialist must carry a minimum level of liability insurance sufficient for residential foundation work. We verify that coverage is active, not expired or pending renewal. This protects you if something goes wrong during the repair. We re-verify insurance status on a regular basis, not just at onboarding.

3

Track record review

We review past project history, customer feedback, and complaint records. We check provincial consumer protection databases and look for patterns. A single resolved complaint is not necessarily disqualifying, but unresolved complaints or a pattern of issues means we will not accept that specialist. We are looking for people who do good work and handle problems when they come up.

4

Interview and assessment

We speak directly with every specialist before they join. This is not a sales call. We want to understand their methods, what equipment they use, how they approach diagnostics, and how they communicate with homeowners. Foundation repair is technical work, and we want specialists who can explain what they are doing and why in plain language.

5

Ongoing monitoring

Getting into the network is not the end of the process. After every match, we follow up with the homeowner to ask how it went. Was the specialist responsive? Was the assessment thorough? Did they feel pressured? This feedback is tracked over time. Consistent negative feedback results in removal from the network. No warnings, no second chances on serious issues.

What This Means for You

You do not have to spend hours verifying credentials yourself. You do not have to wonder whether a contractor is properly licensed or whether their insurance is actually current. We have already done that work.

Every specialist you are matched with through Foundation Genie has passed all five checks. They are licensed, insured, experienced, and accountable. If something does go wrong or the fit is not right, contact us and we will re-match you with another specialist at no cost.
